Welcome to the very first episode of the Ben Lippen podcast. My name is Erin Kay and I am the high school counselor here at Ben Lippen, and our counseling team is just over the moon excited about this podcast and what it's going to bring to our Falcon families and beyond. Parent education is an important component of who we are at Ben Lippen and we recognize that sometimes coming to Ben Lippen to absorb the knowledge from our experts can be a challenge. So in order to overcome that challenge, we decided to take a small pivot and provide some amazing parent education for the school year through the Ben Lippen podcast. And what's really exciting is we already have some of this content recorded and ready to go. And let me tell you it is just, it's so exciting and I just I can't wait for everyone to be able to take part of this.
Mrs. Erin Kay:So our first expert I want to tell you a little bit about him. His name is Chris McKenna and he is with Protect Young Eyes, and Protect Young Eyes is an organization that helps people, helps parents, helps faculty, staff, and students create tech-ready and tech-safe homes to the degree that we can, and also provides education on upcoming trends, how apps are being used, so that we can approach our children through a biblical worldview when it comes to technology. I know this has been a point of interest and prayer for a lot of our families. So, Chris McKenna will be our first guest expert and he will be for the next five episodes. And let me tell you again, this content he's providing, it's so valuable. I learned a lot through my conversations with him.
Mrs. Erin Kay:The beautiful thing about pivoting to using a podcast versus in person is we can share this information with Falcon families and beyond.
Mrs. Erin Kay:You'll be able to take these episodes and share them with your friends and family and we really have the opportunity to take this education, this biblical worldview education on relevant topics around the world.
Mrs. Erin Kay:Also, the beauty of this is you'll have the opportunity to listen to the content over and over and over again, which you'll probably want to do with this next series, because as your seasons of life change with parenting, you might need a different look, a different viewpoint on the information that he shares, or you might forget something, or you might want to share it with your child after you've listened to it. So this provides our Falcon families the ability to listen to the content over and over and over again. So we are so excited to bring this new format to you and we look forward to hearing your feedback on how you love the Bin Lippen podcast. So go ahead and like, subscribe and share our podcast so that you can be updated on when the first episode with Chris McKenna drops. You're not going to want to miss it. I'll see you next time on the Ben Lippen podcast.
